For people who think that this is too good to be true, there is actually a better way to conduct a meeting or conference and this way is really quickly gaining popularity. These days where people are having a hectic schedule at work and most are busy meeting deadlines, most businesses now prefer web conferencing. Why do they prefer web conferencing? What are its advantages and what can it provide?

Well, it is simply because web conferencing provides a much easier and faster way of communicating with business partners and employees. Most companies that use web conferencing have outsourced into other countries and most, if not all of them, had problems with tracking their employees and clients. Because of this, they turned to web conferencing.

Know that web conferencing can be done in two ways. The first way is to download web conferencing software into each of the participant’s computer and installing it. An advantage of this is that it allows the participant to log in and out of the conference without opening or typing the URL of the provider.

However, most software used for web conferencing takes too long to install. But, if you want to computer lags, this is a very ideal way. Many of this software also allow users to do video conferencing. Almost all web conferencing software also offers voice conferencing. Usually, web conference conducted through this software allows both voice and video conferencing.

The second way of web conferencing is through web-based application. This means that you need to open your internet browser and go to an anonymous surfing web site where your web conferencing will be held. The URL’s of web sites used for web conferencing are usually sent through email by the speaker or conductor of the conference.

This web conferencing option eliminates the need to install software into the participant’s computer. Thus, it saves time. However, there aren’t many web conferencing sites that offer video and voice conference. So, it is imperative for the speaker or conductor of the conference to be choosy.

Web conferencing is really great and provides a lot of advantages to not only to people but also to friends who wanted to keep in touch with each other even when located halfway across the globe. It is especially ideal for conducting meetings and seminars without having the need to make your participators travel to the venue. Plus, it is a low cost way of connecting to business partners, friends, family members and employees who are in different locations.

I use AIM Pro and they use Ichat. The two are supposed to be compatible, and it does work just one on one. So while I am video conferencing with one, I am unable to merge it into a three-way conference. When one of them tries to initiate it, they get a message saying that I am unable to support a video conference. The software says that this should be possible, but I am unable to do it! Do I need to install something else?
