Use the AV cable that came with the camcorder to connect the camcorder to the projector. You will use the yellow male RCA analog/composite connector into a video-in Yellow female RCA analog/composite connector on the projector. You can test this at hoime by connecting the camcorder the same way to any TV with an available AV-in Yellow female RCA analog/composite connector on the TV – and selecting that particular AV-in connection on the TV.

The laptop is unnecessary for basic video capture/projection locally.

Things you need to look out for:

    1) Use the camera on a tripod or other steadying device.

    2) If the camcorder is not recording, it will go to sleep. You will lose the video feed to the projector.

    3) Use the camcorder’s power adapter so you don’t have to worry about battery life.

    4) If you have to zoom, zoom s l o w l y. If you have to pan, pan s l o w l y.

    5) Since you are using a projector and did not mention that you are using a video switcher as well, it is not recommended that you switch between any presentation items on a computer connected to a different input on the projector and the camera connected to the same projector by switching inputs. While you did not tell us which projector, *most* of them have a delay when switching between video inputs and “searching for the signal”, so that will be very disrupting to the meeting. If you stay on the speakers with the camcorder, and keep panning and zooming to a minimum – and do them slowly when needed, you should be OK.

If you need to switch between computer presentation and the camcorder video feed, you should use a video switcher – the computer and camcorder feed the video switcher, the switcher feeds a single port on the projector. This way, you can limit the panning an zooming the audience sees by cutting over to whatever the computer is displaying while the camera view changes. More than one person would be needed to do this. Good communication between the camera operator, the person running the video switcher and potentially a different person running the computer with the presentation is imperative… whether you are sitting next to each other or using “ClearCom” headsets…
