    How about Skype? You can both sign-up for free Skype accounts. Then Skype to Skype is free. The only pay services are if you’re dealing with wanting to use it to dial out to normal phone numbers, or have a phone number that others can call you at. But anything that’s just Skype to Skype stuff is free.

    I like to use for my video conferencing because they have great service and low prices.

    The company I work for, Tokbox, provides free video conferencing (up to twenty participants). Most video conferencing is 1:1, with a number of competitors providing multi-point video chat.

    Keep in mind that freezing can occur based on a number of factors (internet connection speed, software not updated on the cam or site you’re using, wi-fi connections are less stable, etc.). I would recommend checking to see if your camera drivers are updated…

    Other considerations:
    Do you want to download software?
    Are you looking for a web-based solution?
    Are there any costs?
