You can buy the most important parts.
Of course you have to buy Motherboard GIGABYTE and processor Dual Core2, hardisk drive and RAM 512 if available in the market. No need for CD drive or Floppy drive.
Don’t forget the input equipments Keyboard and mouse.
Go to tigerdirect.com or newegg.com there you will find parts or built systems that will suit your purposes for way less than$ 4,500.00
The most important thing you need is a strong internet connection. You don’t need very powerful hardware. You may want a decent video card for the video conferencing.
1) For what you will use the computer for, a quad core CPU is severe overkill… it’s not necessary.
A Dual core will be more than enough.
2) You won’t need a very strong power supply.
500 watts is much more than enough… even 400 watts will be enough.
3) Both Asus and Gigabyte make very good motherboards. Either one will be fine.
You don’t need a very expensive board either.
4) You won’t need to buy a sound card because all motherboards have a build-in sound chipset.
5) As for RAM, I would go with a minimum of 2GB.
Personally, If I were in your situation, I would just buy a bare bones kit or a pre-built computer.
You don’t need a very powerful computer. For what you want, you can buy a pre-built computer for under $700 to perform the tasks you wish to perform. Or you can spend under $500 on a bare bones kit.
